What are Google Hangouts?
Google Hangouts is a video, chat and broadcast platform that you can use for multiple purposes, including:
- holding individual or group meetings in real time
- recording and/or broadcasting live a meeting, interview, demonstration or panel discussion (when panellists are all at different locations)
- maintaining a chat conversation over time with individuals or groups

If you want a recording or a broadcast of your hangout, use Hangouts on Air, otherwise use Hangouts.
Consider bandwidth.
If you find it’s low, try turning off your webcams. If it’s still a problem, try muting everyone’s microphone if they’re not speaking.
